Ellegi srl produces systems and provides services for remote sensing measurement of displacements and deformations on natural hazards and manmade buildings using a ground based SAR system, known as LiSALab system, in software production and system integration, production and developments of data acquisition, visualization and data-analysis systems. LiSALab srl has been established in 2003, was an European Commission Ispra Joint Research Centre start-up project based on the efforts and entrepreneurship of its founders in order to exploit the technologies developed inside the Centre. LiSALab srl founders, having developed a special system known as GBInSAR LiSA, decided to transform the technological results achieved in a product from the market since the sensor reached a maturity that allows operational use.
The idea was welcomed by the European Commission through the ECIS project that allowed the creation of LiSALab Ltd. In June of 2003 LisaLab srl awarded the exclusive license for commercial use of this technology. The promoter of this company was the engineer Davide Leva. In the five years of activity at the Joint Research Centre in Ispra (VA), along with colleagues, he was personally involved in the integral development and implementation of the components and operation of platforms LiSA. Also in 2003 the business idea on which the LiSALab srl has been awarded the Province of Milan as the best innovative idea ever on 234 proposals of the Province. LiSA technology is the result of decennary research about synthetic aperture radars of the Joint Research Centre Protection and Security of the Citizen unit of the European Commission.
Since 2003, first as LiSALab srl later as Ellegi srl, the company has offered its products and services for monitoring either normal operation situations or emergency situations such as monitoring the stability of the "Sciara del Fuoco" on Stromboli island in the emergency declared by the Prime Minister and the warning application development about volcano´s activity for the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Florence and the National Civil Protection.
Today Ellegi LiSALab technology, porducts and services are appreciated by public and private customers, both Italian and foreign, crossing the European borders and coming to Japan or Norway.
